The Procurement Engineer position ensures that the company obtains leading quality products for competitive prices in a timely fashion.
The Procurement Engineer role oversees the purchasing of goods and services for industrial operations. The role requires detailed knowledge of the equipment, materials, and supplies used in the Electric Power Industry and the ability to identify companies that trade them. The role is responsible for managing supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
The person performing the role will work in collaboration with other internal stakeholders on delivering the expectations of the company clients and partners by striving to continuously deliver high-quality services and products that provide reliable engineering solutions.

FUNCTIONAL FOCUS:
Analyze suppliers to select the appropriate provider who can deliver high-quality products at competitive pricing.
Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost, and quality to obtain the maximum benefit for the company.
Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule, and quality.
Define and maintain documented category and supplier strategies using market and competitive data.
Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedules to ensure on-time deliveries of final products.
Meet with potential suppliers to compare products, prices, and lease terms.
Develop, implement, and drive the procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets.
Review and manage the supplier base to ensure consistency with the sourcing strategy; coordinate with vendors on continuous quality improvement.
Perform regular performance reviews with suppliers to stimulate continuous improvements.
Prepare the Bill of Procurement as per the project scope of works and contracts.
Prepare detailed schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, GA, SLD, Wiring Schedule, Bill of material, etc. up to 220 kV C&R panels based on tender specifications.
Create monthly performance reviews and reports focusing on overall sourcing requirements.
Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliance in all procurement transactions.
Adopt appropriate supplier management methodologies and procurement strategies in purchasing to secure better prices.
Prepare and develop comprehensive reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) as advised by management.
Perform any other related tasks assigned as per the directives of the HOD (Engineering).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
A minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience as a Procurement Engineer in the energy & power industry in the GCC/UAE.
Experience in industry-relevant products procurement and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
Hands-on experience in Engineering Projects for HV/EHV sub-station projects.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge and experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
Exceptional knowledge in selecting relays for a line or substation.
Ability to analyze bills of material and drawings to understand key requirements.
Profound knowledge in Cost control management, Project risk assessment management, Contract management, and conflict resolution.
Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Continuously identify opportunities to minimize and reduce variability within the supply chain to drive efficiency and operational excellence.
Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to present complex, technical information to a wide audience.
