Procurement Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer to manage the end-to-end procurement process for our engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field, market knowledge in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and a preference for experience in EV charging systems. This role demands technical expertise, efficient procurement management, and excellent supplier relationship skills to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Process Management:
   1. Manage the entire procurement cycle from sourcing to delivery.
   2. Handle payment terms such as Post-Dated Cheques (PDC), Letters of Credit (LC), and manage petty cash.
2. BOQ Preparation:
   1. Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) on time to meet project requirements.
3. Supplier and Market Management:
   1. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
   2. Conduct supplier evaluations to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and reliability.
   3. Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and availability of materials.
4. Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination:
   1. Manage logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
   2. Resolve issues related to shipment delays or discrepancies.
5. Documentation and Compliance:
   1. Maintain accurate procurement documentation including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records.
   2. Ensure compliance with local regulations, project specifications, and company policies.
6. Technical Evaluation:
   1. Assess technical specifications of materials and equipment to ensure alignment with project needs.
   2. Provide expertise in electrical systems and support EV charging-related projects where applicable.
7. Cost and Budget Management:
   1. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
   2. Manage procurement budgets and track expenses against project allocations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in procurement with a preference for experience in the construction or engineering industry.
• Knowledge or experience in EV charging systems is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi markets and supplier networks.
• Expertise in payment terms (PDC/LC) and petty cash management.
• Familiarity with BOQ preparation and technical specifications.
• Proven skills in logistics and supply chain management.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficient in procurement software and MS Office tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
