The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for sourcing and procuring vehicles globally, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves supplier management, contract negotiation, inventory control, and risk mitigation to support the company's export and rental business. The coordinator will collaborate with internal teams to align procurement strategies with business goals while maintaining compliance with international trade and vehicle safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies to meet the company's vehicle procurement needs.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers globally, focusing on markets that offer the best value in terms of price, quality, and reliability.
- Analyse market trends and conditions to understand supply opportunities and risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the company's requirements are met consistently.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers, securing favorable terms for the company.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with agreed-upon quality standards, delivery timelines, and other contractual obligations.
- Oversee the procurement process from vehicle selection to delivery, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Logistics) to align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of vehicles for both the export and rental businesses.
- Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost control and achieving
- targeted savings.
Track and report on key procurement metrics, providing insights into cost savings, supplier performance, and market conditions.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the sourcing and procurement process, including geopolitical risks, supply chain disruptions, and market volatility.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, particularly those related to international trade and vehicle safety.
Skills required :
- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement : Experience in identifying and qualifying global suppliers, negotiating contracts, and optimizing procurement processes.
- Supplier & Vendor Management : Ability to build strong relationships, monitor supplier performance, and ensure contract compliance.
- Financial Acumen : Budget management skills, cost-saving strategies, and procurement cost analysis.
- Analytical & Market Research Skills : Understanding of market trends, risk assessment, and supply chain disruptions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Ability to work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Logistics teams.
- Regulatory Compliance : Knowledge of international trade laws, vehicle safety standards, and procurement regulations.
- Problem-solving & Decision-making : Strong ability to identify risks, manage supply chain challenges, and implement solutions effectively.
- Proficiency in Procurement Tools & Software : Experience with ERP systems and procurement software is a plus.
Position Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- A master's degree in a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory).
Professional Qualifications & Experience :
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive or vehicle industry.
