Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Live in Patient Caregiver to provide exceptional care to elderly patients. The caregiver will assist with personal hygiene, medical support, mobility, and emotional well-being. The role requires professional communication with medical teams and families, along with ensuring the safety and comfort of the patient in a respectful and dignified manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive care, including assistance with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming. Ensure patient comfort and dignity while performing daily tasks.
Medical Support: Administer medications, including injections, according to the doctor's prescriptions and established schedules. Assist in maintaining proper medication records.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies; administer first aid or CPR if necessary. Act decisively and maintain composure in critical situations.
Health Monitoring: Regularly monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and report any abnormalities to the healthcare team or family. Observe and track any changes in patient’s physical or mental condition.
Mobility Assistance: Provide mobility support, including walking assistance, wheelchair support, and transferring between bed, chair, or other locations. Ensure patient safety during movement and repositioning.
Emotional Support: Offer companionship to patients and engage them in light activities that support their mental and emotional well-being. Encourage positive interactions to enhance overall quality of life.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient care, medications, medical conditions, and any notable changes. Ensure clear communication with medical teams and family members.
Professionalism: Maintain a respectful, compassionate, and patient demeanor at all times. Uphold the privacy and dignity of the elderly patient and provide care with sensitivity to their needs.
Experience and Certification: Previous caregiving experience preferred. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ability to administer injections required.
Flexibility: Availability for shift work, including weekends, nights, and emergency call-ins as needed.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Previous caregiving experience (1-2 years preferred).
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
