Key Responsibilities

1. Under general autonomy, provides management, leadership, coaching and mentoring to a team of logistics professionals.
2. Manages logistics operations for an area or region or for a specific global mode, while providing expertise in controls and documentation for all types of moves.
3. Works with Product Service Lines (PSLs) to identify needs and ensures inbound and outbound transportation are arranged to meet operational needs.
4. Manages the performance of service providers and analyzes data over long periods to identify trends.
5. Forecasts trends and issues that may impact the future movement of goods internationally with knowledge of legal and customs requirements.
6. Responsible for setting benchmarks for global volume and cost trends by mode.
7. Develops and implements logistics strategies aligned with regional initiatives for Halliburton's overall goal.
8. Oversees contract management and execution, including negotiating, setting price levels, and approving significant contracts with logistics service providers.
9. Provides sourcing expertise using logistics technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and laws to negotiate agreements.
10. Must have a full understanding of Incoterms and their impact.
11. Manages complex strategic logistics projects through a combination of leadership and subject-matter expertise.
12. Provides inputs and guidance to the finance and accounting (F&A) departments for forecasting.
13. Job responsible for various managerial functions including:
1. Interviewing applicants
2. Training employees
3. Directing and apportioning subordinate work
4. Setting hours of work
5. Appraising subordinate work performance
6. Disciplining subordinates
7. Recommending increases in compensation for subordinates
8. Handling employee grievances
14. Responsible for making decisions regarding, and/or making recommendations regarding, the hiring and firing of employees.

Qualifications

Requires completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems or Engineering and 8 to 10 years of experience in related field of logistics with all transport modes (Ocean, Air, or Land), including hazardous cargo movements. MBA degree preferred. IATA, IMDG and CFR49 may be required based on scope of work.
