The MySQL Business Unit is looking for a MySQL Solution Engineer to help our customers understand and use our MySQL products. We are looking for an expert in building modern data platforms with MySQL.

If you are familiar with typical data management solutions like relational databases and NoSQL databases, understand developer needs, and are familiar with Java and/or Python, as well as frameworks like Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform, you should consider leveraging all this by helping some of the biggest companies in EMEA adopt and optimize their usage of MySQL.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the MySQL Solution Engineering team focused on driving MySQL adoption.
  • Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the open-source database market.
  • Experience with account management (Enterprise, SMB, and startup) and solution selling.
  • Maintain strong database technical knowledge with the ability to differentiate between varied database approaches (relational, non-relational, in-memory, data warehousing).
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive awareness and adoption of MySQL.
  • Identify leads for potential partnerships and customer opportunities in the MySQL community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define the product roadmap and market positioning for MySQL offerings.
  • Identify, drive, develop, and support community user groups and developer program initiatives for MySQL.
  • Provide direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology to client business, facilitating customer product understanding through presentations, demonstrations, and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sales process.

As a Principal Sales Consultant, you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical/functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. You will act as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants, focusing on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. You will develop productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants, deliver outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations, and lead all aspects of the technical sales process. Additionally, you will advise internal and external clients on overall architectural solutions.
