The Role

As an Application Architect, you'll be responsible for designing cutting-edge software frameworks, systems, and products that will set the standard for the industry. You'll use your extensive technical knowledge to conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes, while also identifying and resolving any framework design weaknesses.

You’ll use your technical expertise to provide technical leadership to the application development team, perform design and code reviews, and ensure that uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained. You'll also collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure that the architecture is aligned with business requirements, making sure that the project meets its goals.

Your expertise in designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware, and infrastructure, will be put to use as you create and maintain documentation surrounding the software architecture, application design processes, component integration, testing guidelines, and other key elements.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Drive Application Architecture Stream: Lead the application architecture stream as part of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with client stakeholders and Application teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
3. Standardization: Establish standard Application Architecture content and govern all IT projects within the organization.

Required Technical and Professional Experience :

1. Experience: 8-10+ years in application architecture, software design, and development.
2. Software Development Frameworks and Methodologies: Expertise in Agile, DevOps, and other relevant frameworks.
3. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Application Architect.
4. Integration Patterns and Technologies: Strong knowledge of API design and microservices architecture.
5. Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience :

1. The Open Group - Master Certified Architect (or equivalent)
2. Prior hands-on experience working in a Mainframe environment
3. Experience in the following types of Mainframe projects – Modernise On, Integrate With and Move Off
4. Strong understanding of z / OS and IBM Software Products as well as 3rd party Mainframe software
