The primary class teacher will teach English and a portion of the French curriculum in English to two bilingual primary classes, from TPS (Pre-K) to CM2 (Grade 5). Each class is a half-time commitment, combining into a full-time role. The teacher will promote bilingual learning, supporting students' linguistic and academic growth in a multicultural environment.
Responsibilities:
Teaching the French Curriculum in English:
Deliver parts of the French curriculum in English, adapting lessons to foster both academic and language skills. Use interactive methods to meet diverse learning needs.
English Language Instruction:
Provide structured lessons to develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Utilize varied resources to build students' proficiency and confidence.
Bilingual Learning Support:
Promote bilingualism by integrating methods that enhance language acquisition and cultural understanding. Create an immersive environment for natural English fluency.
Classroom Management:
Maintain an inclusive, engaging classroom atmosphere. Track progress, offer individualized support, and communicate with parents on student development.
School Projects:
Participate in bilingual and cultural projects and collaborate with colleagues to support the LFITM mission of diverse, bilingual education.
