As a Prep Cook at dnata Catering, you will play a vital role in our aviation catering team, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of high-quality meals for airline clients. Your main responsibility will be to assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients, ensuring they are ready for cooking and assembly. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will follow recipes and portion guidelines to measure and prepare ingredients, such as vegetables, meats, and sauces, while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. You will assist in the proper storage and rotation of ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste. You will also contribute to the efficient operation of the kitchen by assisting with inventory management, stock rotation, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Collaborating closely with the culinary team, you will support the production of high-quality meals by assisting in cooking, baking, and assembling dishes as required. Your commitment to teamwork, efficiency, and culinary excellence will contribute to dnata Catering's reputation for delivering exceptional aviation catering services.

You Will

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cuts and portions different types of meat according to specifications.
  • Cuts and portions different types of cheese according to specifications.
  • Cuts and portions different types of fruits and vegetables according to specifications.
  • Assist with dishing out all food and/or meals for airlines.
  • Read and follow dnata Catering recipes correctly and provide correct proportions.
  • Comply with all HACCP/GMP and dnata catering sanitation and proper food handling policies and procedures.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

This salary range is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package. $20.00

You Have

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED with 3+ years’ experience in a high-volume food service with at least 1 year experience/exposure to menu research and development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A reliable, quality-conscious, safe worker.
  • Culinary knowledge of terms, procedures, and practices.
  • Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team.
  • HACCP knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail and self-organization.
  • Ability to deal with a heavy workload.
  • Ability to accurately monitor.
  • Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent.

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
