Postdoctoral Researcher - AI & Digital Twin Research

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to support the project Cognitive Twins: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Omniverse-Powered Digital Twins for Transforming Dubai's Manufacturing Sector. This includes conducting desk-based research and literature synthesis on the different applications of AI and digital twins in industrial settings including benefits, enablers, and adoption/implementation challenges, and conducting primary baseline study on the current state of digital twin adoption among SMEs in Dubai's manufacturing sector, including survey and interview design, data collection, and analysis.

This is a good opportunity for early-career researchers or recent PhD graduates looking to strengthen their research credentials and build their professional profile. The position is a full-time, remote role for 12 months and requires a PhD (or near completion) in Business Management or Computer Science. Candidates should have expertise in digital transformation projects within the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will have prior research experience in academic or industry labs, working on similar projects, along with a demonstrated record of research publications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct systematic literature review on AI and digital twin applications in industrial settings.
2. Conduct a baseline study on digital twin adoption among Dubai's manufacturing SMEs.
3. Support and mentor graduate research assistants in the project.
4. Contribute to technical reports, research papers, and publications in high-impact journals.
5. Contribute to academic publications and research dissemination in peer-reviewed journals, including presenting findings at conferences.
6. Other support to the project team in line with the overall project aims and objectives.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience:

1. PhD in Business Management or Computer Science with prior knowledge/experience in digital/technology transformation projects in industrial settings.
2. Experience in collaborative research projects involving academia and industry.
3. Proven track record of research publications.

Skills:

1. Experience in collaborative research projects involving academia and industry.
2. Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills and ability to work independently in a research-driven environment.
3. Experience in undertaking survey and interview-based research.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
