As a swimming pool technician you would make sure that the water is clean and safe for guests 24 hours a day. You should service and maintain swimming pools, spas, and hot tubs at the hotel premises.
You would also install and service water cleaning, filtering, and purification equipment used for maintaining the pools. Additionally, you will maintain the pool area in a clean, orderly fashion while assuring all pool safety rules and regulations are enforced.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
Swimming Pool Cleaner Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check the swimming pool's water quality and chemical level twice a day and conduct a complete test every 15 days. The report must be verified by the technical foreman or chief engineer and submitted to the health & safety officer at the end of the day to upload to the DM website.
- Carry out deep cleaning of the pools as per the schedule and ensure pool tiles are in good condition.
- Transport and store hazardous chemicals.
- Pick up trash and clean around swimming pools, restrooms, and suites.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain guest room/main swimming pool water systems and filter systems, keeping the pool pump room and your responsibility area clean and tidy at all times.
- Maintain the proper chemical balance for the pool.
- Maintain the pH and chlorine values for good water quality as per DM rules and regulations.
- Maintain the pool and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners.
- Maintain the pool pumps and filters.
- Maintain the pool area, including cleaning the deck and performing other maintenance tasks.
- Respond to swimming pool-related work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
- Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Carry out scheduled water cleaning using chemicals like chlorine.
- Regularly test swimming pool water quality and pH balance.
- Test the chemical levels in guest room swimming pools and other water systems, adjusting as needed.
- Maintain manual or automated records of all activities and prepare daily/15-day records.
- Operate and inspect equipment to ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
- Clean and service swimming pool filtration units.
- Service the solar heating system and maintain it in good condition at all times.
- Ensure underwater lights are in good working condition.
- Use swimming pool vacuum cleaners to clean the pool floor.
- Check and repair corrosion, cracks, and leaks in the pool walls or floors, reporting directly to the duty supervisor.
- Use a telescopic pole with a net to clean and remove any leaves or debris.
- Ensure equipment like pool covers, diving boards, and slides are in good working order.
- Log and report equipment faults or water quality problems to the duty supervisor/chief engineer.
Prerequisites:
Must be efficient, organized, personable, poised, and well-groomed. Must have experience in pool, spa, and fountain maintenance, including chemical use, chemical level testing, pump equipment maintenance, pool plumbing, and all other related items.
