PMC Project Control Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Project Control Manager for our client ADNOC Gas in Abu Dhabi as part of our Project Controls team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be client office based with a possibility of onshore site based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Controls Manager with a proven track record in robust cost and schedule management, ideally coming from a cost control background, to take on a high value portfolio of projects for a high-profile client.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Act as the focal point with the client and any contractor Project Controllers as appropriate to ensure costs and progress are reported accurately, ensure alignment with the project reporting requirements and ensure timely and accurate cost and progress reporting.
2. Monitor overall project / assignment progress status, achievement and non-achievement of major milestones and analyse and forecast performance in relation to plan.
3. Identification, monitoring and reporting against the project critical path providing early warning to the Project Manager of any potential slippages.
4. Identifies and establishes the communications interfaces essential for the delivery of cost, planning, scheduling and risk deliverables and services.
5. Report project status and KPI to management.
6. Develops the project Work and Cost Breakdown Structure (WBS & CBS).
7. Manage the implementation of the cost and planning control structures in alignment with the project Work Breakdown Structure.
8. Manage and oversee the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set-up and approvals.
9. Timely control and forecasting of budgets using earned value management principles (EVM) and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the budget and schedules if applicable.
10. Accountable for accuracy and timeliness of S-curves and histograms produced by team.
11. Accountable for delivery and ongoing maintenance of the projects fully resourced, logic linked Gantt Charts within preferred planning software to the agreed project and programme requirements.
12. Accountable for providing analysis of current and future resource needs for the project and programme to the Project Manager.
13. Oversee the preparation of proposal schedules and CTR packs.
14. Lead cost and schedule risk analysis workshops / sessions both internally and with clients.
15. Ensure risk is managed and monitored at project level in line with local standards and processes.
16. Ensure Project Controls processes and procedures are accurate, that the project controls team are familiar with them and comply with their requirements.

Expected:

1. Degree in an engineering or relevant discipline.
2. Twenty (20) years of experience in planning, progress measurement, cost control, change management and document control on all project phases from front end design through to construction completion which should have been gained in the refinery, petrochemicals or oil and gas industries.
3. Significant experience and capability in management of contracts, budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and management of change.
4. Knowledgeable across engineering, procurement, and constructions execution.
5. Ability to think analytically, conceptually, and adaptively, and make sense of new information across multiple levels of detail.
6. Able to address substantive conflicts and facilitate timely resolution.
7. Good mentoring skills to help assure individual and team success.
8. Solid Knowledge about ADNOC VAP system.
9. Able to foster development of a common vision and collaboration among team members.
