JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Logistics Specialist for our client ADNOC Offshore in Abu Dhabi as part of our Logistics team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based full time at our client office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Controls Manager with a proven track record in robust cost and schedule management, ideally coming from a cost control background, to take on a high value portfolio of projects for a high-profile client.

Key Objective

To undertake and supervise/manage the effective receipt, storage, movement and control of all materials to support the business.
To liaise with Supply Chain, user groups, third parties, client and Supply Base & Marine contractors to ensure that all materials and equipment are received, marshalled and shipped in accordance with company procedures and internal controls.
Supervision of stores personnel in their day to day duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of all materials and logistics activities that they are responsible for, including but not limited to:
  • Establish, manage and maintain the warehousing/materials control operation at the designated warehouse/work site/client facility.
  • Coordinate the efficient operation of and continuously monitor the efficiency and performance of the warehouse operations, including the utilisation of labour.
  • Coach and monitor staff in operating processes/procedures and safe working practices including but not limited to new staff inductions and daily toolbox talks.
  • Management of the allocation, control, issue and marshalling of materials between different work locations and supplier and the coordination of carriers in accordance with project requirements and schedule/vessel sailings.
  • Production of shipping documents for all materials movements.
  • Timely updating of procurement system with goods receipts / manifests / shipping documentation.
  • Warehouse materials handling e.g. OS&D checks, bagging and tagging, preparation for shipping and marshalling/loading of shipments.
  • Management of Freight Forwarding and Import / Export and Customs control activities.
  • Identification and management of materials shortages and surplus.
  • Control of Inventory in accordance with required inventory regime e.g. FIFO/Kanban and ensuring accuracy thereof by monitoring of warehouse activity, cycle counts and stock checks.
  • Requisitioning and control of small plant and equipment/tooling/consumables.
  • Production of Materials Status reporting to project and client.
  • Coordinating material supply to and performance/delivery of fabrication items.
  • Ensuring maintenance and preservation of materials is undertaken for stored equipment.
  • Attending Project Progress Meetings / Purchase Order Pre-Production Meetings.
  • Liaison with all Project personnel, client representatives, and suppliers where appropriate to resolve materials supply issues.
  • Ensures all Supply Chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
  • Update the project / procurement status report (PSR) in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead and delivery times, notifying any delays to supply chain management. Carry out all activity in accordance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct, ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and applicable processes and procedures are complied with and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable.

  • All other tasks as reasonably requested by line management.

Expected:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 15 years materials / logistics experience demonstrating results and progression to a similar management position.
  • Varied and detailed work experience in the industry which would allow understanding of and exposure to key Inventory, material control and logistics concepts and principles.
  • Previous use of ERPs such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP.
