Plant Manager

The ideal candidate will have experience managing both a production facility and a team. They should be able to analyze each step of the manufacturing process and make effective use of resources to deliver desired outcomes. The candidate will also have an ability to follow safety and compliance guidelines diligently in order to create a healthy work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for overall Plant production & Administrative Control of all plant employees working in all shifts.
2. Ensure that Safety, Discipline and punctuality is adhered to by all Plant employees.
3. Co-ordinate with PMG, PPC & Finance for setting up the Month-on-Month Production targets in line with the Company’s Annual shipment budget.
4. Review, expedite, monitor & control the production status of project.
5. Drive the compilation & consolidation of the Management Information system (MIS) for performances of all production lines on daily, weekly, monthly & YTD basis.
6. Receive the Weekly production Schedule & job priorities from Project Management Group.
7. Communicate the production plan to the concerned Plant staff through a weekly production plan for on time execution.
8. Drive the production with respect to the Shipment plan set by PMG.
9. Initiate / participate in the weekly / need based meetings with PPC / PMG / Engg / QC for sorting issues on production, quality and on time deliveries.
10. Intervene, support & co-ordinate with all concerned departments to sort out any kind of bottlenecks hampering production.
11. Lead & drive the Operational Excellence, 5S projects & other process improvement initiatives in the plant.
12. Co-ordinate / assist maintenance on any production line layout revisions, critical preventive maintenance issues, machine downtime, consumable cost, Personal protective equipment, FFE maintenance etc.
13. Co-ordinate with SAP power users & SAP core team for any functional issues on SAP / administrative disciplines to ensure maximum utilization of ERP.
14. Formulate KPIs, review & monitor performances of all Leadsmen, foremen & plant superintendents in accordance with the set targets on Safety, Production & Quality standards.
15. Monitor the progress of jobs in accordance with the dates as committed.
16. Report & seek support from the Manufacturing Director on issues needing his intervention.
17. Support the Foremen & leadsmen to conduct Toolbox meetings at the start of each shift in the respective areas.
18. Conduct need based technical training to employees & safety training as per the EHS Training calendar.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or industrial production engineering. MBA in Operations management is preferred.
2. 5-6 Years working experience as a Production in charge in a reputed PEB manufacturing / a reputed heavy fabrication industry. Overall experience of 20-25 years & age between 44-49 is preferred.

Technical & Non-technical Skills

1. Hands-on experience in running PEB / structural fabrication plants.
2. Extensive use of Software like ERP (SAP/Oracle) and MS office. AutoCAD is preferable.
3. Thoroughly knowledgeable with all Steel Fabrication processes like cutting (Shearing, Flame, Plasma, Laser), punching & drilling, welding (FCAW, SMAW, SAW), roll forming and abrasive cleaning & painting.
4. Good analytical skills to recognizing process deviation and KPI trends. Bold to take initiative to put things back on track.
5. Working exposure to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, 18001 & ISO 14001:2015.
6. Conversant with Engineering design and detailing standards.
7. Good communication skills and command on languages like English and Hindi. Arabic is preferable.
