Planning Engineer (Water & Wastewater)

Description:

Stantec is looking to recruit a Planning Engineer to join our team in Dubai.

The Planning Engineer will be working on projects associated with stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks and water distribution networks. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction monitoring.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Technical Delivery

1. Oversee and coordinate the planning and scheduling of various projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time.

2. Create detailed project plans, identifying potential risks or issues, and developing contingency plans to mitigate those risks.

3. Work closely with resident Engineer, clients, and contractors to define project timelines and set goals, objectives, and milestones.

4. Monitor the day-by-day progress of projects, including updating project plans, tracking schedules and timelines, and reporting to senior management.

5. Provide regular financial reports and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

6. Support project activities through the application of technical engineering planning principles and techniques, identifying non-conforming materials, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.

7. Assist in project administration including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.

8. Develop the Project execution plan considering the proper engineering techniques and milestone sequences for the Project with support of RE/ARE.

9. Assist with the preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction.

10. Track and analyze field results, continually comparing planned progress and actual progress, and report any differences to the Resident Engineer.

Collaboration and Working as Part of a Team

1. Liaise with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate the completion of tasks and projects.

2. Perform other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.

3. Build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.

4. Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

5. Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

• 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects.

• Certifications in Primavera Software package.

• Experience in Dubai Municipality infrastructure projects is an advantage.
