Job Description: Planning Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Planning Engineer at GEO Global Engineering Office, you will play a pivotal role in managing and streamlining the planning and scheduling of engineering projects. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will contribute to the development of complex industrial and infrastructure projects, including the creation of new building codes and planning for high-level delegations.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Scheduling:

1. Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using advanced planning software like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
2. Create detailed project timelines, resource allocation plans, and critical path analyses.

Coordination & Communication:

1. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scopes and objectives.
2. Act as a liaison between different teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on project timelines.
3. Identify potential delays and risks, providing strategic solutions to mitigate them.
4. Regularly analyze project performance data to anticipate and address scheduling conflicts.

Reporting & Documentation:

1. Prepare and present progress reports, dashboards, and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
2. Maintain accurate records of schedules, updates, and changes for reference and audits.

Process Improvement:

1. Develop and implement planning best practices and procedures to optimize project execution.
2. Support the adoption of new tools and methodologies to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.

Support for Delegation Planning:

1. Assist in planning and organizing visits for high-level delegations to major logistics and industrial cities.
2. Coordinate schedules, site visits, and other logistical details to ensure successful engagements.

Compliance & Standards:

1. Ensure that project schedules comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
2. Contribute to the development and implementation of the building codes for Modon, Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

1. 5+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the engineering or construction industry.
2. Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects is preferred.

Skills:

1. Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other planning tools.
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Certifications:

1. PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Knowledge:

1. Familiarity with regional building codes is a plus.
