Roles and responsibilities
  1. Develop systems and procedures for Project control functions on the onset of the project and as and when there are additional requirements from the client in order to facilitate the process of project monitoring.
  2. Finalize the staffing requirements in consultation with PCM.
  3. Develop, implement & maintain the project controls procedure, project schedules (level 1-4), and reporting systems specific to the project. Provide guidance to the project control team working for the project.
  4. Prepare the progress measurement system which has weight factor calculations and quantities with earned value. These will be used as supporting documents for progress reported.
  5. Prepare planning documents such as manpower histograms, which indicate the number of people required each month, and progress S curves which will indicate the progress that the project makes at a given point of time, reviewed at periodic intervals.
  6. Monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project through weekly/monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project. Progress monitoring on a regular basis and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts.
  7. Participate/coordinate internal project team review and review by the client of the work schedule, progress measurement, and reporting systems.
  8. Review the status continuously and keep the Project Control Manager apprised of the progress and the areas needing attention for schedule adherence.
  9. Interact with the site project control team to ensure that the engineering & procurement activities are properly interfaced in the construction level 4 schedules.
  10. Carry out diagnostic studies of ongoing projects to measure what is achieved vis-à-vis the plan based on progress reports and feedback to ensure timely completion and formulate an action plan for schedule adherence.
  11. Carry out schedule risk analysis as and when required and advise on an action plan to mitigate delays, if any.
  12. Attend all meetings concerning progress, technical, and contractual matters in relation to project controls.
  13. Participate in department development activities for continual improvement in the project control system & services.
  14. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the PCM.

Essential Qualifications And Skills

  1. Graduate engineer with approximately 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry conversant with projects and execution. Experience in HO & Site planning.

Desired candidate profile
  1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

    1. Develop detailed project schedules using software like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
    2. Create work breakdown structures (WBS) and define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
    3. Develop long-term and short-term project plans, identifying key project phases and the timeline for each.
    4. Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to understand the full scope of the project and ensure the schedule reflects all project needs.
  2. Resource Allocation and Management:

    1. Identify and allocate resources (labor, materials, equipment) necessary for the completion of various tasks in the project.
    2. Optimize resource usage to ensure efficiency while minimizing costs and delays.
    3. Work closely with the project management team to ensure resources are available as required for the timely completion of tasks.
  3. Risk Management and Mitigation:

    1. Identify potential risks related to project timelines, budgets, resources, or scope changes.
    2. Develop risk mitigation strategies and adjust project schedules to accommodate unforeseen circumstances or changes in scope.
    3. Monitor ongoing project risks and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  4. Progress Monitoring and Reporting:

    1. Track and report on project progress, comparing actual performance against planned schedules.
    2. Use project management software and tools to generate progress reports, highlight delays, and forecast future activities.
    3. Provide regular status updates to senior management, project teams, and stakeholders, ensuring transparency in project timelines and performance.
  5. Cost Estimation and Budget Control:

    1. Work with the cost control and project management teams to monitor project costs and prevent budget overruns.
    2. Develop accurate cost estimates for tasks and resources, ensuring that the project stays within its allocated budget.
    3. Suggest ways to optimize costs, including identifying areas where cost reductions can be achieved without compromising quality or safety.
  6. Coordination with Stakeholders:

    1. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to align schedules, tasks, and resources.
    2. Liaise with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide updates, and address concerns regarding the project schedule.
    3. Attend and participate in project meetings, offering planning insights and updates.
