Job OBJECTIVES (Summary of overall job purpose)
Responsible for the preparation of detailed schedules of all projects in the pipe department including manpower projection plan, progress measurement, milestone setup, and run-down curve. He will also be responsible for developing and implementing project control and monitoring systems to improve the efficiency of the department accordingly. Follow up of programs, to raise timely alarms, and take corrective measures.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Follows all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Follow and comply with information security rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information/intellectual properties.
- Day-to-day operations:
- Develop and maintain tracking mechanisms for engineering deliverables and raw materials for prefabrications in line with projects execution plan.
- Overall project planning according to materials ETA, engineering deliverables, supervisors and Sr. Foreman inputs.
- Update spool, support and joint details in ERP (Mariner or equivalent) by reviewing the drawing details properly for traceability records.
- Monitor the man hours consumption project-wise and highlight discrepancies to the supervisors in-charge and managers.
- Manpower planning and control in line with the 5-week plan.
- Prepare and develop individual critical projects run down curve and update weekly progress to supervisors and managers.
- Resource planning and control.
- Daily and weekly progress monitoring and reporting.
- Liaise with central planning department for different interface issues such as man hours/manpower loading.
- Work as a team for on-the-job training and performance appraisals of the other team members.
- Calculate man hours and preplan piping execution procedures.
- Actively assist the supervisors in implementation of the programs.
- Ensure vessels programs and workshop jobs are updated.
- Monitor in-house progress versus estimated manhours and identify areas for improvement.
- Follow up with project team and commercial for the sequence wise man hours allocation and variance figures evaluation.
- Provide weekly project progress updates to managers, project planners and project managers.
- Review the 5-week plan and ensure the loading of manpower in line with the project manpower requirements.
- Control the man hours spent vs. allocated for the jobs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Piping Construction plus minimum 3 years shipyard experience or similar construction industry.
- Familiarity with piping material grades and ability to extract details from Pipe.
- Minimum 4 years planning experience includes division of work scope within modules/locations through all stages of construction activities.
- Competency to read piping drawings in line with material grades and other basic process details.
- Comprehensive knowledge in ship construction and relationships between trades.
- Computer literate utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and basic familiarity with Primavera.
- Ability to extract information from available drawings, AutoCad, spools tracker/traceability, weld map.
- Ability to present to a formal audience.
- Proficient in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and performance measurement techniques.
