We are now looking for Piping Designer to execute projects and support bids in Navi Mumbai - India.

Reports To

The Piping Designer reports to the assigned Line Manager/ Project Manager.

Job Overview

The Piping Designer is responsible for handling piping design review and lay-out assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

In your role, you will execute piping design deliverables in projects in a safe manner, budget, schedule, and quality.

You should have a desire to work on multi-discipline local as well as overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by working together with assigned discipline designers and engineers.

Sr. Discipline Piping Designer shall be technically qualified (Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 10 years’ minimum Oil & Gas experience and Min. 8 years in senior role) in discipline Piping, 2D/3D CADD systems, specifically in Engineering Designs and interdisciplinary layout preparation utilizing the 2D/3D Modeling techniques.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Act as senior and interact with the Design Discipline Piping Engineer and the project manager for solving technical problems arising during project development.
  • Review Client's technical documentation and requirements, interpret topographical and geotechnical survey inputs, carry out detailed site surveys, verification, and data collection.
  • Conduct lay-out study, tie-in, feasibility study, design basis, and independently develop piping deliverables, scope of work, work definitions, piping specifications, datasheets, requisitions, piping engineering calculations, technical bid evaluation, vendor document review, MTO.
  • Possess good knowledge of ASME 31.3 and extensive experience with ADNOC / Shell DEP standards.
  • Understand piping drawings (layouts, GAD’s, isometrics, plot plan).
  • Organize inputs and supervise preparation of piping drawings, support design, material take-offs, calculations, stress analysis, material specifications, datasheets, and material requisitions as per ASME 31.3.
  • Understand the interface within the multi-discipline project.
  • Take full responsibility for proper and timely execution of project deliverables ensuring full compliance with the quality management system and any project-specific contractual requirements.
  • Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management teams.
  • Coordinate with members of the piping discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors, etc.
  • Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned, and close-out.
  • Prepare documents for piping related workshops such as model reviews for lay-out and actively participate in the same.
  • Assume responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity, and budget control.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects.
  • Provide value-added optimization ideas.
  • Cooperate with other engineering disciplines, customers, and subcontractors locally or overseas.
  • Check the piping engineering deliverables created by draughters.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Graduate (BEng, BSc. or MSc.) in Mechanical or Technical related degree.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years relevant engineering experience in Piping Design Engineering ASME B31.3.
  • Software Skills: PDS, MicroStation ‘J’ & AutoCAD; ADNOC experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, leadership and coordination, analytic and pro-active approach competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.
  • Willingness to overcome challenges and pressure during the peak of the project.
  • Willing to do extensive site-surveys during project execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in the English language.
