About Us

Velo Logistics specialises in providing skilled delivery riders to food delivery companies and restaurants, ensuring fast, reliable, and professional service. With a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction, we streamline last-mile delivery operations for our clients, helping them meet their customers' needs seamlessly. As we build Velo, we are looking for a People Operations Manager to help build and scale our HR and people function.

Role Overview

The People Operations Manager will play a key role in managing and improving our HR operations. This individual will ensure smooth HR processes, drive employee engagement, and support the organization in scaling its people functions efficiently. The ideal candidate ideally has a background in building a people operations function from scratch is a strategic thinker with a passion for fostering a positive work culture and optimizing HR processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build new HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Oversee HR systems and data management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Build and implement people programs, including performance management, learning & development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, staying up to date with HR best practices.
  • Partner with leadership to enhance employee experience and company culture.
  • Provide guidance and support for employee relations matters, offering solutions to drive a positive work environment.
  • Lead payroll and benefits administration in collaboration with finance and external vendors.
  • Analyse HR metrics and data to drive improvements in employee experience and organizational efficiency.
  • Assist in talent acquisition, employer branding, and workforce planning initiatives as needed.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees, answering HR-related queries and providing guidance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of HR, people operations, or related experience in a fast-paced environment ideally within the logistics space
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, UAE employment laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Passion for employee engagement, culture-building, and continuous improvement.
