The Job Opportunity: As an Assistant Technician, your purpose of the role is to carry out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance within a facilities management civil works section, individually or as part of a technical team, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the business operations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ability to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work.
- Any other work as assigned by the supervisor / duty engineer to achieve the purpose.
- Can read, interpret and describe the functionality of civil works drawings (schematic & layout drawing).
- Knowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Standards and Regulations.
- Tasks’ Experience (Hands-on) including: Conduct Inspections to determine the need for painting, Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint, Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces, Providing decorative and faux finishes, Runway markings, Pavement marking, Road markings.

Specific requirements:
- High School Certificate.
- Industrial Training Institute Certificate / Diploma (2 year duration) in painting and decorating or equivalent (post high school).
- IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
- Current valid UAE driving licence is desirable.
- Minimum three (3) year experience within facility management and/or civil works or similar environment.
- Airport experience is considered as added advantage for this position.
- Ability to communicate with staff, stakeholders and customers in oral and written English.
- Working Knowledge in using MS Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
- Ability to perform safely and correctly the following: Use of painting & decorating hand and power tools, Planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines, Corrective maintenance (CM), Breakdown maintenance (BD).
