Paediatric Emergency Nurse

The Paediatric Emergency Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill or injured children in an emergency setting. They will assess patients, administer treatments, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and act quickly in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

1. Assess and triage patients in the pediatric emergency department.
2. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
3. Monitor and record patients' vital signs and symptoms.
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in the development and implementation of treatment plans.
5. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
6. Prepare patients for diagnostic tests or procedures.
7. Document patient assessments, care provided, and patient outcomes accurately.
8. Adhere to professional nursing standards and maintain patient confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in nursing and a valid nursing license.
2. Minimum of two years of experience in pediatric nursing, preferably in an emergency department.
3. Certification in pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and basic life support (BLS).
4. Strong knowledge of emergency pediatric protocols and procedures.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
