Collaborate with HP’s packaging team to set and drive HP’s long-term sustainable packaging strategy.
Meet HP’s packaging sustainability goals alongside multi-disciplinary teams within HP
Research and evaluate emerging trends and technologies in sustainable packaging and recommend best practices and solutions.
Understand and report the competitive landscape on packaging.
Guide investigations to design and evaluate packaging prototypes that minimize environmental impact and optimize functionality, quality, and cost
Answer customer inquiries, meet customer demands, and track customer trends as HP’s packaging sustainability subject matter expert.
Engage, educate and market to internal and external stakeholders on the value and benefits of sustainable packaging and the competitive differentiators.
Monitor and report HP’s packaging performance and progress internally and to third-party reporting schemes and packaging award programs.
Build business cases to drive investment in sustainable packaging design and sourcing.
Foster sustainable packaging innovation through investigations with partners into new more sustainable packaging materials and designs
Support new products/services introduction processes where packaging is needed to ensure the packaging is compliant, and certified to any voluntary eco labels
Work with industry groups and eco-label organizations specializing in packaging sustainability.
Support packaging assessments for internal audits and supplier audits to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Manage implementation projects to meet materials restrictions or other regulations
Education And Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
Knowledge and understanding of packaging materials, processes, and systems.
Experience and skills in packaging testing, analysis, and evaluation.
Basic understanding of different packaging materials and general sustainability.
Certification or training in sustainable packaging, such as Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) or Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) membership, is a plus.
Typically, 4-7 years’ experience in packaging design, or development

Proven project management skills to lead projects and programs with team members from diverse technical backgrounds.
Ability to collaborate successfully coordinating and directing virtual, matrixed teams and resources to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and solve complex problems.
Effective written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
Willingness to thrive in an ambiguous and a dynamic environment.
Excellent data analysis, mathematical modeling, and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated to make progress towards goals autonomously as needed.
Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience or understanding of productivity software and tools including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, results, and requests at the senior management level.
