Job Description
Installation Supervising and performing the installation of new EOT cranes, including single-girder, double-girder, gantry, and jib cranes. Reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate installation. Assembling crane structures, aligning rails, and ensuring proper motor and gearbox installation. Connecting electrical wiring, control systems, limit switches, and safety devices to the crane. Ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards. Coordinating with engineers, project managers, and safety officers for proper system integration.
Maintenance and Servicing Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the crane operates efficiently. Lubricating moving parts, gears, bearings, and wire ropes to minimize wear and tear. Checking and adjusting brakes, limit switches, end stops, and load-bearing components. Inspecting and maintaining hoist motors, gearboxes, trolleys, and crane bridges. Monitoring electrical control panels, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and contactors for faults. Keeping detailed records of maintenance schedules and service reports.
Repair and Troubleshooting Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in EOT cranes. Identifying defective components such as motors, hoists, gearboxes, electrical panels, and control circuits. Repairing crane control systems, remote controls, pendant stations, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) faults. Testing crane load capacity, alignment, and movement efficiency after repairs. Ensuring the crane meets load-bearing, safety, and performance standards.
Emergency Support Responding to emergency breakdowns and service calls for crane failures. Diagnosing critical failures and providing immediate solutions to restore operations. Implementing temporary fixes to ensure minimal downtime until a permanent repair can be conducted. Working in high-risk industrial environments such as steel plants, warehouses, power plants, and heavy manufacturing units.
Leadership and Supervision Leading a team of EOT crane technicians, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow. Training and mentoring junior technicians in crane maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques. Providing technical expertise on complex crane control and mechanical issues. Conducting performance evaluations and implementing best practices for maintenance teams.
Facilities Interaction and Technical Reporting Communicating with Facilities, facility managers, and safety officers to discuss crane-related concerns. Providing recommendations for crane system upgrades, energy efficiency improvements, and cost-effective solutions. Preparing detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation for audits. Educating Facilities on crane operational safety, preventive maintenance schedules, and best practices.
