Outdoor Sales Executive

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Outdoor Salesman with 5+ years of experience in the building materials and hardware industry, particularly focused on timber products. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of whole building materials including hardware, tools, safety equipment, paints, plumbing & sanitary, garden tools, electrical, automotive, timber items such as melamine, veneer, Red meranti, hardwood, softwood, MDF and Commercial plywood. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is capable of building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and is passionate about driving sales in the construction and hardware sector.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in the sales of building materials and hardware products, with specific expertise in timber products.
• Timber & Hardware Expertise: Strong understanding of timber items, including various types of hardwood, softwood, melamine, plywood, MDF, veneers, and building materials and hardware such as tools, fittings, fasteners, and related products.
• Sales Skills: Proven ability to generate leads, close sales, and manage customer relationships effectively within the building materials and hardware sectors.
• Customer-Focused: Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach to sales, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and deal-closing abilities to meet sales targets and maximize profitability.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex product information to customers clearly and persuasively.
• Time Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and tasks efficiently.
• Driving License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel to customer sites and meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
• Certifications: Any certifications related to building materials, timber products, or hardware sales would be a strong asset.
• Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes, construction regulations, and market dynamics for timber and hardware products.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience in B2B sales or in the building materials industry would be highly advantageous.
