Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily factory operations, including planning, scheduling, and production management.
  • Ensure signage fabrication, printing, assembly, and finishing meet quality standards and project deadlines.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure the availability of raw materials and manage inventory.
  • Monitor machine maintenance schedules and ensure the proper functioning of equipment.

Project & Workflow Coordination:

  • Work closely with the design, sales, and project management teams to align production schedules with client requirements.
  • Ensure seamless execution of custom signage projects, including illuminated, non-illuminated, wayfinding, and digital signage.
  • Oversee installation planning and logistics to ensure timely project completion.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Maintain high-quality control standards for all manufactured signage products.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
  • Implement and monitor workplace safety programs to prevent hazards and accidents.
  • Lead, train, and supervise factory staff, including production supervisors, technicians, and fabricators.
  • Set performance targets, conduct appraisals, and implement staff development programs.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage production budgets, reduce costs, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and efficiency.
  • Prepare reports on production metrics, operational performance, and process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in signage, fabrication, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of signage production techniques, materials, and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CNC cutting, laser cutting, and digital printing technologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) considerations for signage installation.

Desired Candidate Profile:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production and operational activities of the signage manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of projects while optimizing resources, maintaining safety standards, and implementing best manufacturing practices. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, experience in signage production, and the ability to coordinate between multiple departments.
