Job description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution and management of interior design and build projects. This role involves ensuring project timelines, budgets, and milestones are met while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will manage staff, labor, and resources effectively, build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers, and ensure prompt payment collection and fund generation to keep projects financially viable.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Management
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
    • Monitor project timelines and milestones and provide prompt follow-ups to maintain schedules.
    • Create and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
    • Arrange materials only when required and ensure proper budget allocation.
  2. Team and Staff Management
    • Maintain punctuality and attendance of staff and labor at work.
    • Conduct regular checks and balances to ensure productivity and compliance with company standards.
    • Train and guide team members on operational best practices.
    • Collaborate with team members to resolve payment delays and maintain project progress.
    • Ensure payment collection upon milestone completion and follow up promptly with clients for any delays.
    • Generate funds through strategic methods, such as creating project variations and managing change orders.
    • Secure materials on credit from suppliers while maintaining strong relationships.
  3. Inventory and Material Management
    • Monitor and manage inventory to ensure efficient resource utilization.
    • Verify team requisitions to avoid over-ordering or unnecessary procurement.
    • Maintain accurate records of material usage and requirements.
  4. Client and Vendor Relations
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with project progress.
    • Establish and maintain trust with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and uninterrupted supply chains.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior operations or project management roles.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, inventory management, and financial planning.
