JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Manager provides guidance and leadership to field inspection on routine matters, responsible for taking the necessary steps to ensure that all daily operations are run efficiently within the allocated resources. The Operations Manager is also responsible for the expansion of existing business relationships and the development of new business. She/he will keep the General Manager or Managing Director informed of all the operational needs.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

  1. Review and accept nominations from clients and confirm requested services prior to accepting nominations.
  2. Write job instructions for inspection teams, provide timely updates to clients throughout operations.
  3. Ensure effective business operations, including housekeeping, human resources, safety, quality, security, and environmental practices.
  4. Demonstrate good leadership through effective planning, delegating, and empowering subordinates appropriately, and leading by example.
  5. Implement best practices in the operation to maximize operational efficiency and maintain data quality that meets or exceeds industry standards.
  6. Motivate and hold employees accountable against specific performance objectives.
  7. Ensure that VTIC is meeting industry and customer expected standards.
  8. Manage people and performance daily, acting quickly and decisively.
  9. Actively promote a strong culture of safe operational practices and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
  10. Ensure top-level strategy is implemented quickly and effectively in each operational location.
  11. Ensure staffing levels are appropriate for sample volumes and that staff are properly trained to perform their assigned duties.
  12. Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in petroleum operations with a managerial or supervisory role (TIC company operations / vessel operations / terminal operations).
  • Dependable and reliable individual whose daily presence adds to the success of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of petroleum products, refinery processes, terminal operations, and distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with API chapters, industry regulations, environmental laws and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in relevant software and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
