Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Fruits & Vegetables Market, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish market rules, regulations, and policies governing traders, tenants, and service providers.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Dubai Municipality, RTA, and other regulatory authorities' policies to align market operations with UAE regulations.
• Oversee overall market dynamics to ensure operational efficiency at all times.
• Liaise with concerned authorities when needed in order to ensure operational excellence.
• Collaborate with RTA to regulate vehicle access, parking, and traffic management within and around the market.
• Coordinate with Dubai Civil Defense to ensure emergency preparedness, fire safety compliance, and crisis management strategies.
• Regularly liaise with regulatory bodies to stay informed about policy changes and ensure market compliance.
• Oversee market traffic flow to prevent congestion and facilitate the efficient movement of goods and vehicles.
• Manage parking allocation and enforcement for traders, transporters, and visitors.
• Implement and enforce parking rules, access control, and security measures.
• Coordinate with logistics companies to ensure timely loading, offloading, and storage of fresh produce.
• Ensure all waste disposal activities comply with Dubai Municipality waste management regulations.
• Implement sanitation and hygiene standards across all market facilities.
• Ensure proper budgeting and cost control measures are in place for operational efficiency.
• Manage operational expenses and optimize costs, and identify revenue generating opportunities.
• Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, security incidents, and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate with Dubai Civil Defense for fire safety drills and emergency response planning.
• Prepare and submit regular operational reports to the line manager detailing market activities, compliance updates, challenges, and recommendations for improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of market operations, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder communications.

Required Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Traffic Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in market operations, logistics, or wholesale trade management.
• Experience in dealing with government entities (Dubai Municipality, RTA, Dubai Police, Civil Defense, etc.).
• Knowledge of fresh produce handling, cold storage logistics, and food safety regulations.
