Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, supervising, and coordinating the Operations for the collection of waste while maintaining the highest client satisfaction and service standard.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the collections division in alignment with the company's overall objectives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Manage the activities and performance of subordinates and ensure their activities are aligned to the job description.
• Coordinate and support the team in achieving business strategies and take necessary action based on the performance of business units and employees.

Operational Oversight

• Ensure the agreed activities are carried out within the timelines, rules, and regulations.
• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day waste collection, transportation, and disposal activities.
• Ensure timely and effective execution of services to meet client requirements.
• Monitor all company assets including vehicles, bins, loaders, skips, and ensure timely and proper maintenance is carried out.
• Ensure the effective addressal of all customer complaints by the team and ensure corrective actions are undertaken.
• Organize site visits as required by the BD and commercial team; provide timely feedback and recommendations on operational aspects as and when required.

Team Leadership

• Supervise the activities carried out by supervisors, drivers, and helpers to ensure these are aligned to the job description.
• Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement among team members.
• Enforce performance standards and motivation to staff, supervisors, and employees as required.
• Work with the HSE team to motivate employees and find solutions to reduce absenteeism, injury/accidents & sickness, and take necessary actions.

Financial Management

• Develop and manage the budget for the operational function.
• Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial targets are met.

Quality Control

• Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure the proper handling and disposal of waste materials.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success.
• Complete understanding of the safety risks and hazards at the client site and ensuring the HSE and safety guidelines and regulations are explained and followed by all our employees deployed at the client site. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards of the industry.

Other Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients internal & external addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
• Have frequent interaction with workers/drivers to address any operational concerns and coordinate with relevant support functions.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in a similar role within the Waste Management Industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in any related field, Master’s Degree is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong ability to lead a large workforce of drivers, cleaners, and a technical crew.
