Job Description: Operations Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Business Development:

1. Conduct client visits to establish and maintain strong relationships.
2. Follow up on potential work opportunities and new business leads.
3. Prepare quotations independently or with the assistance of the Quantity Surveyor (QS).
4. Ensure quotations are reviewed by the CEO prior to submission.
5. Submit quotations promptly and follow up with clients for status updates.
6. Receive and thoroughly review contracts, ensuring terms are risk-free.

2. Project Planning (Pre-Execution):

1. Develop comprehensive plans for work execution, focusing on material requirements, manpower allocation, supervision needs, and reporting structures.
2. Implement automation tools to streamline planning and monitoring processes.

3. Execution Phase:

1. Conduct resource planning to ensure smooth project execution.
2. Collaborate with management on subcontractor selection and planning.
3. Obtain and review quotations from subcontractors.
4. Negotiate and finalize commercial terms with subcontractors.
5. Assist QS in preparing subcontract agreements and ensure subcontractor sign-off.
6. Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely deployment and performance.
7. Ensure optimum utilization of available resources.

4. Manpower Management:

1. Lead manpower management, including recruitment, training, and successful retention.

5. Revenue and Cash Flow:

1. Demonstrate strong business acumen.
2. Follow up with clients for timely payments.
3. Ensure monthly revenue aligns with business plans.

Desired Candidate Profile:

This is a leadership role where the individual is expected to be actively involved and accountable for every phase of the business, ensuring successful operations while independently following up on projects, clients, and new business opportunities. The role requires implementing automation for all business processes, maintaining direct day-to-day involvement in execution, fostering client relationships, and managing subcontractors effectively. The ideal candidate should have grown up in a construction or fit-out environment in the UAE, possess leadership capabilities, and have the ability to build a successful business.
