Purpose of the job

The role will support a busy finance team in completing monthly information for multiple group companies. You will need to provide accurate and timely information on a monthly basis to a variety of stakeholders within the finance community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team management & development; including objective setting, performance management and appraisals
  2. Manage relevant creditor accounts with an understanding of all credits on the GL system
  3. Reduce creditor days and manage write off process
  4. Ensure working instructions are completed by the team for each task/process and ensure sufficient cover is in place across the department
  5. Make recommendations for process improvements on a continual basis
  6. Supervise posting of approved purchase invoices and expenses
  7. Check and approve weekly and monthly payment runs
  8. Check and provide commentary for creditor balance sheet reconciliations
  9. Produce a monthly timetable for the processing team
  10. Advise system administrators of any issues, and help resolve where possible
  11. Other ad hoc tasks requested by financial managers

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  1. Good knowledge of Excel
  2. Accountancy knowledge
  3. Good communication skills
  4. Strong Excel skills
  5. Knowledge of SAP would be a bonus
  6. Understanding and have practical experience of financial, operational and business processes
  7. Ability to work proactively, positively, efficiently and effectively
  8. Ability to build strong working relationships with other business teams
  9. Ability to make things happen can do/will do attitude
  10. Ability to drive and motivate a team to success
  11. Organised, calm and capable under pressure
