Job description

Royal Health Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide high-quality occupational therapy services across our facilities in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. The OT will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs to enhance the functional independence and quality of life for patients of diverse ages and conditions. This role requires a commitment to excellence, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to adapt to the dynamic healthcare environment within the UAE.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations utilizing standardized and non-standardized assessments to determine patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities.
  • Evaluate performance in ADLs, IADLs, work, leisure, and other meaningful occupations.
  • Analyze assessment data to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop effective intervention strategies.
  • Individualized Treatment Planning & Implementation: Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans aligned with Royal Health Group's standards and best practices.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to:
    • ADL and IADL retraining.
    • Therapeutic exercise and activity programs.
    • Cognitive rehabilitation and perceptual training.
    • Sensory integration therapy.
    • Assistive technology and adaptive equipment prescription and training.
    • Pain management.
    • Home safety and accessibility evaluations.
    • Adapt interventions to meet the cultural and individual needs of patients within the UAE.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to Royal Health Group's documentation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to collaborative patient care.
  • Patient and Family Education: Provide culturally sensitive education and training to patients and families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home programs.
  • Empower patients and caregivers to promote independence and safety in their daily lives.
  • Professional Development and Compliance: Maintain a current understanding of occupational therapy best practices and advancements through continuing education.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by the DHA/DOH and Royal Health Group.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students as required.
  • Comply with all Royal Health Group policies and procedures.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Valid DHA or DOH license to practice Occupational Therapy in the UAE.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric OT experience.
  • Specialized certifications or training in areas such as neurological rehabilitation, pediatrics, or geriatrics.
  • Knowledge of local healthcare regulations and practices.
