Network & Security Engineer

Job Overview:

The Network & Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring optimal security for the organization's IT systems. The role involves managing network hardware, monitoring for security threats, responding to incidents, and developing strategies to improve overall network performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Design & Implementation:
   • Design, configure, and deploy secure network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure (Cisco, FortiGate & Aruba).
   • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the network infrastructure.
   • Maintain and update network architecture documentation.
2. Security Management:
   • Monitor network traffic and security tools for potential threats or breaches.
   • Configure firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other security devices to safeguard sensitive data (FortiGate, Trend-Micro).
   • Implement security policies, standards, and guidelines in line with organizational requirements.
   • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
3. Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
   • Investigate and respond to security breaches and network incidents promptly.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve network performance, connectivity, and security issues.
   • Collaborate with other IT teams for root cause analysis of incidents.
4. Compliance & Best Practices:
   • Ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST).
   • Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
   • Recommend and implement best practices for network and security management.
5. Monitoring & Reporting:
   • Set up and manage network monitoring tools to proactively detect issues.
   • Provide regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance status.
6. User Support:
   • Provide technical support for network-related issues to internal teams.
   • Educate and train staff on best practices for maintaining network security.

Key Requirements:

1. Educational Qualification:
   • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
   • Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly preferred.
2. Experience:
   • 5+ years of experience in network engineering and security management.
   • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet).
   • Familiarity with security protocols, encryption techniques, and authentication solutions.
3. Technical Skills:
   • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, MPLS).
   • Proficiency in firewall configuration, VPN setup, and network troubleshooting.
   • Experience with security tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners).
   • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and security solutions.
4. Soft Skills:
   • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
   • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
   • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).
• Valid UAE Driving License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
