From experience, the ideal candidate will have:

• The expertise to architect, develop, and troubleshoot large production-grade distributed systems on either AWS or GCP, and select the appropriate tools to tackle business problems at the right scale.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• A scripting or programming background with shell/bash scripts and one or more of the following: Python, Go, Rust, C, C++ or Java.
• Networking experience (DNS, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, SDN, and VPNs).
• Experience troubleshooting Linux machines (system resource management, cgroups, storage and file systems, network configuration, and so on).
• Familiarity with debugging, refactoring, and optimizing code, and the experience to know when and how to automate tasks.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in both English and Spanish.
