Network Engineer

Job Responsibilities

1. Plan, design, and deploy network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, etc.).
2. Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware.
3. Ensure network scalability to support future growth.

Monitoring and Maintenance

1. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
2. Conduct routine maintenance to ensure network stability and efficiency.
3. Implement updates, patches, and upgrades for network hardware and software.
4. Perform network backups and disaster recovery planning.

Security Management

1. Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
2. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
3. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards.

Support and Troubleshooting

1. Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users.
2. Diagnose and resolve network problems quickly to minimize downtime.
3. Document network configurations, changes, and processes for future reference.
4. Work with IT and development teams to support business applications.

Educational Background

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Technical Skills

1. In-depth knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).
2. Hands-on experience with network hardware (Cisco, HPE, Huawei, etc.).
3. Proficiency in configuring firewalls, switches, and routers.
4. Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
5. Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).

Certifications (preferred but not mandatory)

1. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
2. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Work Experience

1. Must be based in Dubai / Sharjah UAE.
2. 4 years plus working experience in UAE market either with System Integrator / OEMs.
