As a Resident Engineer specializing in Palo Alto NGFWs, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Palo Alto Networks Firewalls (FW 7,000, FW 7,500, 5,000 models) in complex, high-traffic environments. You will work directly with our client teams to ensure that their security infrastructure is running at peak performance and is aligned with best practices for security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
Firewall Deployment & Management: Install, configure, and maintain Palo Alto Networks FW 7,000, FW 7,500, and 5,000 NGFW models, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
PAN-OS Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of PAN-OS to manage software updates, configurations, policies, and rule management for firewalls.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex network security issues, working closely with client teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Security Best Practices: Provide guidance on firewall policies, network segmentation, and security posture improvements to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Collaboration: Work as a key technical resource alongside project managers, network engineers, and security teams to deliver integrated network security solutions.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of firewall configurations, changes, and troubleshooting activities, ensuring clear documentation for future reference.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience working with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, particularly FW 7,000, FW 7,500, and 5,000 NGFW models.
Strong understanding of PAN-OS (Palo Alto Networks Operating System), including advanced features such as App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, and Threat Prevention.
Solid knowledge of network security protocols, firewall policies, VPNs, SD-WAN, and traffic inspection.
Experience in troubleshooting complex network security issues and providing ongoing support.
Certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) are a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team in a fast-paced environment.
