We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Neonatologist to join our team. The Neonatologist will be responsible for providing specialized medical care to newborn infants who require intensive care due to premature birth, congenital malformations, or other medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive medical care to premature and critically ill newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to develop treatment plans for newborn infants
Conduct thorough physical examinations, interpret test results and make diagnoses
Prescribe medications and provide treatments to newborns in accordance with established protocols
Monitor and evaluate the progress of newborns under your care, communicating any concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate team members
Educate parents on their newborn's condition and provide emotional support during their hospital stay
Participate in medical rounds, case conferences, and other meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients under your care
Keep abreast of advancements in neonatal care and incorporate evidence-based practices into your treatments
Supervise and mentor medical students and resident physicians as assigned
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited university
Certification in Neonatology from the American Board of Pediatrics or equivalent certification
Active state medical license and in good standing
Minimum 2 years experience working as a Neonatologist in a clinical setting
Strong knowledge of neonatal diseases, conditions, and treatments
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
Compassionate and empathetic towards patients and their families
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize patient care
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Working Conditions This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings on a rotational basis. The Neonatologist will be based at a state-of-the-art hospital with a well-equipped NICU and a supportive team.
