The inspector will work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams on projects in the oil and gas, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform AUT inspections on pipeline welds to ensure quality and integrity.
  • Interpret AUT data and analyze results for compliance with client specifications and standards (e.g., API 1104, DNV).
  • Evaluate the root cause of detected flaws and recommend corrective measures.
  • CSWIP Compliance:
  • Apply CSWIP standards to assess and validate welding quality.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on pipeline welds to ensure compliance with welding codes.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate AUT systems for onshore and offshore pipeline projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on AUT equipment.
  • Utilize tools such as phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) and time of flight diffraction (TOFD).
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Compile comprehensive inspection reports, including AUT results, defect assessments, and recommendations for repair or rework.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, calibration logs, and project-specific documentation.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Coordinate with welding supervisors, pipeline engineers, and quality control teams to address inspection findings.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve quality issues and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to site safety protocols and industry-specific health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, API) and client-specific requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2 Welding Inspector Certification.
  • Experience with pipeline inspection standards, including API 1104, DNV, or ASME.
  • Knowledge of pipeline construction, welding processes, and material properties.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, materials science, or a related discipline.
  • Additional NDT certifications (e.g., ASNT Level II/III in UT, MT, PT).
  • Experience in offshore and onshore pipeline projects.

Skills:

  • Expertise in ultrasonic testing principles and automated systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting complex AUT data.
  • Excellent communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder interaction.
  • Proficiency with AUT software and related data analysis tools.
  • Field-based work in pipeline construction sites, including remote and offshore locations.
  • Exposure to harsh weather conditions, industrial environments, and extended work hours.
  • Requires travel to project sites and flexibility to work on rotational schedules.
  • Advanced knowledge of AUT techniques and pipeline weld evaluation.
  • Proficiency in CSWIP-compliant inspection methods.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.

This job description is tailored to meet the specific demands of pipeline projects and highlights the critical skills required for an AUT expert with CSWIP certification.
