MS Engineer - AWS

Job Purpose
The Managed Services Engineer is responsible for providing operational and technical support for our clients by maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing cloud infrastructure and applications. They will be responsible for managing, supporting, and resolving level 2 incidents and requests within the cloud environment.

1. Oversee the daily operation of our clients' cloud environments, ensuring performance, security, and availability.
2. Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues relating to cloud services including compute, storage, databases, networking, and security.
3. Collaborate with other Tier 2 engineers to maintain consistency and operability across multiple environments.
4. Perform routine audits of systems for the purpose of preventative maintenance of operational systems and reporting on the health of systems.
5. Assist in the design and implementation of new cloud infrastructure and provide recommendations for enhancements to existing architectures.
6. Contribute to the development of automation scripts and tools to manage and monitor cloud services.
7. Collaborate with other technical teams and departments to ensure client needs are met and that incidents and requests are resolved in a timely manner.
8. Coordinate with delivery team on new projects handover.
9. Participate in an on-call rotation for incident resolution outside business hours.
10. Provide assistance and coach MS Associates as an escalation point and drive outage bridges to resolution.
11. Document and communicate network event status using established systems and business practices.
12. Provide timely escalations/notifications as required by procedure and avoid repeated outages on customers workloads.
13. Provide service-oriented environment focused on problem prediction, detection and resolution.
14. Identify opportunities for improvements to the current processes and propose changes that can increase efficiency and reduce costs.
15. Drive root cause analysis efforts across multiple infrastructure layers (OS / Network / App).

1. Monitor the network/systems, document network events and take corrective action in response to alerts.
2. Troubleshoot alerts to resolve on priority, event and incident management within SLA and ensure ticket closure with correct RFO.
3. Ensure the managed services operations comply with relevant standards, policies, and regulations. This might involve conducting regular audits and making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

Job Specification
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering or any related field
Professional Certifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) (Must)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) (Preferred)
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) (Preferred)
EC CSA Certified SOC Analyst (Preferred)
SIEM technology Certifications (Preferred)
Knowledge
Operating Systems: Linux or Unix / Windows
Scripting Languages: PowerShell, Python, SQL
Infrastructure: Understand interpreting system and application logs; cloud and network security
Security: Ability to identify attack activities such as man in the middle, sniffing, DoS, DDoS, etc.
