JOB PURPOSE

Motorcycle service technicians perform tasks such as repairing engines, performing body repairs, diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing defective parts, checking tire pressure, and adjusting subassemblies.

JOB DIMENSIONS

Mechanical abilities, troubleshooting, teamwork, time management, problem-solving, recordkeeping, overall safety, and detail orientation. Special training programs by motorcycle manufacturers.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Understand customers' concerns about motorcycle/bike condition on the repair order carefully and diagnose accurately.
• Test drive the customer’s vehicle to check customer complaints.
• Refer to Service Advisor if a customer complaint is not clear or seems incorrect.
• Coordinate with the workshop and reception.
• Analyze performances of parts tested to determine deviation from specification.
• Disassemble and examine parts to determine the cause of malfunction using hand tools.
• Determine correct parts and tools required for the repairs.
• Inform the control room about service activity to be carried out and parts required.
• Document repairs within a reasonable time and complete details about the cause, work activity, and parts required.
• Perform complicated repair sequences according to established procedures.
• Follow and abide by all health and safety regulations.
• Ensure maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Ensure a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other reasonable activities from time to time.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma / Mechanic or GED certificate along with training in motorbike maintenance.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in the motorcycle mechanic field preferred.
