Mobile Application Developer

POSITION SUMMARY

Spinneys, the UAE's leading premium food retailer, is looking for a team player, with a can-do attitude, an eye for detail and able to apply their skills in a prompt & practical manner as MOBILE APP DEVELOPER.

ORGANIZATIONAL FIT

This person reports directly to the SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

1. Relevant Qualification: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
2. Experience: minimum 7-8 years of experience with proficiency in Swift for iOS development and Kotlin for Android development, with a strong understanding of respective ecosystems, frameworks, and libraries.
3. Good understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles and best practices, with experience implementing custom UI components and animations.
4. Translate design mockups and wireframes into functional user interfaces, ensuring consistency and usability across different devices and screen sizes.
5. Optimize app performance, including load times, memory usage, and battery consumption, to deliver smooth and responsive user experiences.
6. Experience with mobile app architecture patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM), and familiarity with common design patterns and principles.
7. Experienced in app deployment on respective stores.
8. Problem solving aptitude, responsive, and good communication skills.
9. Pro-active, analytical ability, and quick learner.
10. Understanding of code-repository tools like GIT, VSS or Tortoise SVN.
11. Experience in other mobile development frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Xamarin) is a plus.
12. Good command of English.
13. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to simplify or articulate matters logically and to manage stakeholders effectively.
14. Highly responsive and strong team player as well as having the ability to work independently.
15. Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
