Responsible for the development of the MICE segment from an agreed designated geographic region. To represent the business at the highest level in order to solicit new business opportunities, and to maximize revenue from existing accounts. To promote the business through strong negotiations (including F&B and rooms revenue) to assist the hotel archive budget in line with revenue and sales strategies.
What will you be doing?
- Pro-active Sales Activity: Travel outside of the hotel to meet with existing and prospective customers to solicit business in line with the budget, revenue and sales strategies of the hotel. Attend sales calls at regular intervals in the local market to target and solicit business for the property. Penetrate and target business to sell specific room types as requested in line with business needs. Engage in the agreed required number of daily sales appointments. Conduct sales group sales presentations where appropriate. Attend tradeshows and internal roadshows or client events as required.
- Sales Activity – on site: Meet with and entertain customers on site including property tours and site inspections, familiarization trips, client networking and dinners as required. Undertake the agreed number of on-site client events per month. Demonstrate a knowledge of the business unit and tailor this to the needs of the relevant client(s).
- Administrative Activities: Prepare proposals and/or contracts as agreed with the client and utilizing standardized Hilton Family contracts, CREFs etc. Calculate and quote on rates and business in line with hotel’s revenue and sales strategies. Maintain account files, development plans and information to Conrad (Hilton Family) standards. Submit reports as requested by DBD or DOS within agreed deadlines. Respond to emails in a timely fashion.
- Research and New Business: Actively seek out new business to optimize revenue and maintain healthy business levels in the sales pipeline. Demonstrate creative and innovative ways to attract and develop new business leads. Achieve the agreed minimum % of new business per year within total revenue generated. Exercise knowledge of the local, national and global market place to ensure proactive sales activities.
- Systems: Maintain all databases accurately and ensure client details are up to date. Use of the internet in line with company policy. Appropriate use of email. Correct and consistent use of group and forecasting evaluators (e.g. Ideas).
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Attends monthly sales meetings with sales team.
- Attends monthly one to one with DOS/ADOS.
- Attends other meetings and briefings as required by DOS.
- Conducts research and presents new business opportunities within and from the local market.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Is fully trained with regards to the hotels’ fire regulations and actions in case of fire.
- Is generally aware of all health and safety aspects of the hotels.
- Is expected to always comply with hygiene and health & safety regulations.

- Business or Hospitality degree, or equivalent educational qualification or relevant experience in similar role.
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
- Fluent in written and spoken English. A second language is preferable but not essential.
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
- Ability to work under pressure and under own initiative.
- Experience in a sales role with a proven track record to close a sale.
