Job Title: Scrap Metal Trader

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with scrap metal suppliers, yards, and dealers.
2. Source high-quality ferrous (steel, iron) and non-ferrous (aluminium, copper, brass) metals at competitive prices.
3. Negotiate procurement contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
4. Sales & Business Development:
5. Identify and engage buyers, foundries, smelters, and manufacturers.
6. Negotiate pricing and contracts for bulk scrap metal sales.
7. Develop strategies to expand the company's market reach.
8. Market Analysis & Trading Strategy:
9. Monitor metal market trends, pricing fluctuations, and demand-supply gaps.
10. Forecast price movements and advise management on profitable trading strategies.
11. Stay updated on LME (London Metal Exchange) and COMEX prices.
12. Logistics & Compliance:
13. Oversee the logistics of scrap transportation, warehousing, and export procedures.
14. Ensure compliance with environmental, customs, and trade regulations.
15. Coordinate with freight forwarders for international shipments.
16. Financial & Risk Management:
17. Manage credit risks, payment terms, and financial transactions with buyers/suppliers.
18. Ensure profitable margins by optimizing cost structures.
19. Track invoices, contracts, and trade documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Experience: Minimum 5+ years in scrap metal trading, commodity trading, or recycling industry.
2. Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or Metallurgy (Preferred but not mandatory).
3. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of metal grades, pricing trends, and international trade regulations.
4. Sales & Negotiation: Proven ability to close high-value deals and build strong client relationships.
5. Analytical Skills: Ability to assess market trends and forecast pricing changes.
6. Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of waste management laws and customs regulations.
7. Tech-Savvy: Experience with ERP systems, trading platforms, and CRM tools.
