Job description

As a Merchandise Planner you will be responsible for planning and controlling the inventory of the product range to increase sales and minimize losses through effective merchandising and inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure effective in-season management across territories - stock transfers, markdown management, stock analysis, stock vs sales performance, non-moving stocks.
  2. Build allocation strategies focused on store clusters, customer profiles, and opportunities by store. Ensure optimum inventory levels are maintained for each brand/category, keeping in mind store requirements.
  3. Develop and publish KPI, Benchmark, and Best & Worst Seller reports which will provide accurate and reliable information to the management and facilitate decision-making.
  4. Prepare aged inventory and markdown strategy; both in-season and end of season, and get timely resolution of liquidation.
  5. Understand gaps in the inventory control process, do stock consolidations, and replenish in a timely manner. Work on OTB's.
  6. Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities; compare sales data of the planned gender/category to company sales and communicate major deviations.
  7. Prepare and maintain order tracking, sales comparison trackers for sales events.
  8. Publish performance reports across all stores/brands with stakeholders.
  9. Maintain and track non-merchandise stock levels (e.g., stationeries, POSM items, etc.).

Experience and Qualification

  1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management, or any related degree.
  2. Minimum 2-3 years experience in fashion retail, with in-depth experience in merchandising.

Requirements

Job Specific: Highly analytical and data-driven, working comfortably with quantitative figures.

Experience in forecasting, merchandise planning, allocation, replenishment, and financial planning processes and systems.

Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.

Team player with good coordination and interfacing skills.

Generic Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
