Responsible for the mechanical maintenance operations (repair, maintenance, inspection, improvement), ensuring supervision of subordinate employees and optimization of personnel deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day mechanical maintenance operations.
- Ensure preventive maintenance in the field of mechanics by scheduling and coordinating operations with the open pit, treatment, and maintenance foremen.
- Issue work orders to carry out fault clearance.
- Develop proposals to improve facilities and increase plant availability. Responsible for material planning and usage.
- Ensure the correct execution of maintenance work in accordance with relevant mechanical regulations (laws, ordinances, standards, etc.).
- Contribute to the takeover of new or changed facilities and the training of subordinates.
- Check and ensure the availability of tools, measuring, and testing equipment in use.
- Communicate interdepartmentally, in written and/or verbal form, on the status of jobs, projected completion time, and need for assistance.
- Act as a technical resource to field personnel and plant maintenance, actively engaging in field issues. Responsible for cargo securing for outgoing transports.
Quality, Safety, Health and Environment:
- Ensure application and compliance with safety and fire safety measures during maintenance work. Inspect work areas continuously for possible mechanical problems or unusual conditions.
- Report deficiencies to the Department Managers. Properly handle environmentally hazardous substances.
- Perform work duties in accordance with Company Quality Systems Manual procedures.
People Management:
- Supervise and control subordinate personnel. Joint responsibility for the safety of subordinate employees, ensuring compliance with relevant working conditions and working time regulations.
- Monitor employee job performance such as attendance, quality, and productivity.
- Joint responsibility for the education and training of subordinate employees in organizational operating procedures and standards.
Skills Required:
- Able to understand broad international standards to undertake various maintenance programs.
- Knowledge in valve operations and heavy lift.
- Ability to make complex technical decisions and lead teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capable of working under pressure, such as during breakdown maintenance and shutdowns.
- Coordinate with inter-departments and maintain good relationships with all.
- Undergo and obtain certification for basic safety courses such as confined space entry and high radiation exposure.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Facility Management or relevant field.
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar field within GCC.
