MEP QS ENGINEER- EXPERT IN CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR
- Evaluate project specifications and develop accurate MEP cost estimates while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect MEP installations, identifying discrepancies between the work completed and the contract requirements.
- Prepare and review tender documents, ensuring they reflect the current market conditions and project requirements.
- Manage the preparation and submission of timely and detailed variation claims based on project changes and scope adjustments.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency in MEP projects.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions that align with project budgets.
- Provide expert guidance on contractual issues, dispute resolution, and risk management strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all contract-related documents, including correspondence, change orders, and payment applications.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures against estimates, preparing detailed reports to inform stakeholders of financial status.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards in all MEP-related contracts and procurement processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in MEP quantity surveying and contract administration within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards relevant to MEP systems.
- Proven expertise in using quantity surveying software and tools, such as CostX or Bluebeam, for accurate assessments.
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, PQS, or similar recognized qualifications are preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and forge beneficial agreements.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages, especially Arabic, is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical skills to interpret complex contract documents and financial reports.
