MEP QA/QC Electrical Inspector Lighting Small Power Control System

Contract: 6 Months

Location: Dubai

Experience: Experience on Villas projects

Position Overview

The MEP QA/QC Electrical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems and installations within a project meet the required standards, specifications, and codes. The inspector will perform regular inspections, tests, and audits to maintain the quality and functionality of electrical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, industry standards, and quality assurance/control processes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inspection and Testing:
    1. Conduct thorough inspections of electrical installations, including wiring, panels, lighting, and other electrical components to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
    2. Schedule and witness regular testing of electrical systems including insulation resistance, continuity, grounding, and functionality tests.
    3. Document and report any nonconformities or discrepancies found during inspections.
  2. Quality Assurance and Control:
    1. Implement applicable QA/QC procedures and checklists specific to electrical systems.
    2. Ensure that all electrical installations comply with project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
    3. Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship used in electrical installations.
  3. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and audits conducted on electrical systems.
    2. Prepare detailed reports on the quality and compliance of electrical installations.
    3. Communicate findings and recommendations to project managers, electrical engineers, and contractors.
  4. Coordination and Communication:
    1. Work closely with project teams including electrical engineers, contractors, and other inspectors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
    2. Provide guidance and support to contractors and subcontractors on quality-related issues specific to electrical installations.
    3. Attend project meetings to discuss QA/QC issues and progress related to electrical systems.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    1. Ensure that all electrical work adheres to safety standards and regulations.
    2. Identify potential safety hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
    3. Conduct safety audits of electrical installations and provide recommendations for improvement.
    4. Stay updated with the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices related to electrical systems.
    5. Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
    6. Identify opportunities for improving QA/QC processes and procedures for electrical systems.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical QA/QC inspection or a related field.

Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g. NEC, NFPA, or other industry-related certifications) are preferred.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction codes, and industry standards.

Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with QA/QC software and tools as well as basic office software (e.g. MS Office).

Working Conditions

The role requires working on construction sites which involves exposure to various weather conditions and physical activities. Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to meet project deadlines.

Reporting Line

Reports to the QA/QC Manager or Electrical Project Manager.
