Identify problems in design, plan, organize, review, manage, and deliver multiple projects.
Utilize knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management software.
Prepare and deliver effective oral presentations and oversee the work of contractors, service providers, and subordinate staff.
Prepare plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates for plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and general piping systems.
Provide technical advice to designers, supervisors, inspectors, and contracting service providers regarding the installation and maintenance of MEP systems.
Analyze mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering problems and formulate solutions.
Review permit to work documents in detail and provide approvals, coordinating with relevant team members.
Review contractor’s shop drawings against the design (tender) drawings for compliance with the design intent and return to the relevant person with appropriate comments.
Review contractor’s mechanical shop drawings in conjunction with structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering coordination and advise the Project Director accordingly.
Undertake general project site observation/inspection of the mechanical services works for contractor adherence to the approved shop drawings and consultant specifications, good working practices, and construction schedule.
Monitor and promote health and safety on site. Record and report any breaches to the HSE Manager and stop construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as deemed necessary by the FM Manager.
Review the contractor’s proposed MEP system testing and commissioning methods and schedule.
Witness on-site piped system pressure tests, air conditioning duct leakage testing, and other testing that may be required during the first fix works and advise the FM Manager accordingly.
Witness MEP system final testing and commissioning on a spot basis.
Review and comment on contractor’s testing and commissioning results and take necessary action accordingly.
Undertake final project snagging and prepare a list of defects for contractor action.
Attend project site progress and any MEP services related technical meetings as needed.
Prepare draft site/engineer’s instructions relating to the building MEP services as required and issue them to the relevant team.
Qualifications:
Mechanical or Electrical University degree with experience in plans, prints, specifications, and schematics associated with the trade.
At least 5 years of construction/project experience with working knowledge of MEP, Civil, and ELV Systems.
Experience in liaising with local authorities (Abu Dhabi).
Knowledge of statutory requirements related to Abu Dhabi.
