Job description

Job Summary:

Work closely with Project Manager and client counterparts and supervise subcontractors and lead and manage all MEP activities through the project lifecycle ensuring seamless coordination, technical compliance, and successful completion from initiation to handover.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all MEP activities throughout the project lifecycle ensuring seamless coordination, technical compliance, and successful completion from initiation to handover.
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with project stakeholders including consultants, clients, and subcontractors to address and resolve technical issues ensuring seamless project and the achievement of project objectives.
  • Monitor project progress continuously adjusting plans and resources as necessary to address challenges, mitigate risks, and ensure project objectives are met within budget and time constraints.
  • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, as-built documentation, and O&M manuals ensuring their accuracy and facilitating timely submission and approval processes.
  • Supervise, audit, and coordinate the implementation of MEP systems including Fire Alarm, HVAC, Plumbing and Drainage, Firefighting, Electrical (HV/LV), Public Address, Security and CCTV, Structure Cabling, Audiovisual, BMS, Car Park Management, Access Control, and other ELV services ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Oversee and coordinate with Procurement Department the procurement of MEP material logistics and subcontracting ensuring that resources, material, and services are provided on schedule and in accordance with project specifications ensuring on-time delivery, quality compliance, and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure subcontractors comply with established quality and safety standards. Ensure adherence to client and international regulations, building codes, and safety requirements while proactively addressing construction challenges and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Review and provide input on interim payment applications, variation claims, and subcontractor payment processes maintain comprehensive record of MEP technical developments and variations to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed weekly and monthly progress reports evaluating project milestones and providing management with precise updates. Ensure timely and accurate reporting on project status, risks, and issues to senior management, clients, and stakeholders providing recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitor submittals to local authorities ensuring timely compliance with contract documents and local regulations. Collaborate with contractors and liaise with local authorities during site visits addressing ambiguities and queries to facilitate a seamless approval process.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning processes and ensure that the systems are fully operational and meet performance standards before handover.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent)

Additional Information :

Experience Requirements:

  • 10-12 Years in HSE and 3 Years in UAE
  • Contract experience in engineering and construction projects in oil & gas, power, infrastructure industries in EPC/EPCM.
  • Relevant client-facing contracting experience 3-4 years.
  • Supervisory 3-4 years.

Skills & Professional Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems including HVAC, piping, electrical systems, fire protection, and plumbing.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC design tools).
  • Understanding of relevant standards and codes (e.g. ASME, API, NEC, NFPA).
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with team members, contractors, and clients.
  • Experience with HSE regulations and a commitment to safety.
  • May involve working in harsh or remote environments with exposure to hazardous materials or extreme weather conditions.
  • Will require frequent site visits and the ability to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
